Kristi Houk

Background

My first record store job was at Charlemagne Records (RIP) when I was 18. Music saved and

continues to save my life daily. I am a poet (for myself) and music reviewer (for Substrate Radio)

as well as the butt of Jason and Tony’s jokes on the morning show, Meeting People Is Easy.

My day job is at the much beloved Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve in East Lake where I have

been making things interesting since 2016. About 10 of you may remember my band Feather

Canyon (Johnny Cash meets The B-52’s). We made 2 records and I miss playing music with

them very much. I have an eight year old daughter, Georgia, who would rather live with Kate

Bush.
