After breadcrumbing us with cryptic teasers and posts for the past month, Scottish electronic duo Boards Of Canada have OFFICIALLY confirmed what many of us were thinking (and hoping): They’re releasing a new full-length album!

The news came yesterday, April 22, in an Instagram post that made everyone’s Earth Day a little sweeter. “INFERNO. 29 MAY 2026.” That’s all the info that was given at first. But they soon followed that up with another post: “INFERNO. 18 TRACKS. 70 MINUTES. 2xLP, CD, DIGITAL. 29 MAY 2026. boardsofcanada.com.”

And the announcement came after they released a context-less audio track, titled “Tape 05,” just last week (which you can listen to below):

Inferno will be their first album since Tomorrow’s Harvest, which dropped all the way back in 2013. Aka thirteen years ago. (Obama was still president when that came out, to give you an idea how fckn long it has been.) I think I speak for all BOC heads when I say that “stoked” is an understatement. Counting down the days ’til the end of May!
