And it’s REAL fuckin’ good. (As in, I’ve been playing it on repeat all morning.)
“Flawed,” the track in question, was recorded as a demo over 35 years ago when Swervedriver was in the process of making their debut album “Raise.” And while an alternate version of the song was released on their Sandblasted EP in 1991, this particular demo version wasn’t actually released until literally today. And one thing about me: I am a SUCKER for a demo.
“Originally recorded in the band’s Camden rehearsal studio in 1990, the track has finally made its way out into the world, more than three decades later,” Swervedriver said in an Instagram post this morning.
The track will be included on Swervedriver’s upcoming album, “raise: demos,” which is set to drop later this year, Oct. 23, on Outer Battery Records. Apropos of the name, the album will comprise the original demos, recorded in the winter of ’90 and ’91, for what would eventually become “Raise.”
You can preorder the album on vinyl, CD or cassette on Bandcamp. And you can listen to “Flawed” below!
