God, I really love the title of this album. Oh, to be that direct. Would save a lot of heartache which I think is what Clementine Creevy is aiming for on her latest album in four years. I Don’t Want You Anymore.  Upon first listen, it is apparent that Creevy has matured and gives zero fucks.

Production wise, this record is sleeker then the ones before it and I have to wonder if she’s primed for radio. And good for her. It’s an ambitious album, the songs are strong and more realized.

Fear not, there’s still that raw and raucous side—take the low-fi opening track, “Addicted to Your Love”at first listen, you might mistake it for an unreleased Elliott Smith song. The monotone acoustic guitar licks with the deadpan delivery. Spare and echo-y. I like Creevy best when she lets go like on “Touched You with My Chaos” it’s almost a scream against the very sluggish, 90’s grunge-era guitar.

Most of the songs definitely slip into dance floor territory—which is fine by me. Who doesn’t love a good dance party?   Particularly on the track “Ready for You” a late night staple.  “Soft Like a Flower” is a dark, punchy track that makes you want to mosh rather than waltz.

Our little girl is all grown up. and this album beautifully showcases that. I am ready for more.

Stand Out Tracks: “Ready for You,” “Touched You With My Chaos,” “Bad Habit”
