Substrate Radio Freeform Radio From Alabama
By Jason Hamric

After two decades, most bands get bored. They start to rewrite and rehash everything they’ve ever done and usually not for the better, but that’s NOT Fucked up! Well it is… but I am not here to be punny. Somewhere between hardcore and some twisted power pop fever dream is exactly where Fucked Up seems to live.
“What could you do in just one day?” A line from the title track explains it all. One Day is exactly what this record is. Not just an experiment in record making but keeping the music fresh. One Day was recorded in just 24 hours with each member working on it independently. , and even though recorded separately it feels like the band was really playing tighter and more together than ever before. Only a maturing band with experience can really pull this off.
One Day has some of the band’s best material yet. “Found” and “ I Think I Might Be Weird” are two of the stand out tracks on this record, but I’m drawn to “Nothing’s Immortal”. It’s probably because it is a lot closer to the power pop tracks they do so well, even though it is the odd track in the mix. Go down to Seasick or whatever your local record store is and pick this album up! It’s hella fun.
