In an Instagram post captioned “Happy May Day,” the band confirmed the release of their first song in over 25 years. Technically, it was uploaded to Bandcamp in April, per guitarist/vocalist Tobin Mori in an interview with Strand Magazine. But for the first time since the band called it quits in 1999, we got a brand new original song from Korea Girl. It’s called “Anthropocene.” And it is beautiful.

They released two different mixes of the song, both of which you can listen to on Bandcamp.

This extremely welcome news comes shortly after the reformation of the equally legendary band Ee, of which Tobin is also a member. (And who recently reissued their iconic album Ramadan, which is so good it’s practically impossible to find a hard copy of.) They played a handful of shows last year, for the first time in nearly two decades.

Does that mean we’ll get another album from Korea Girl and/or Ee? Who knows. But I’m manifesting the hell out of it.
