Three Minutes: A Lengthening (2021)
An extremely powerful documentary about a town in Poland that was wiped off the map by the Nazis. All that remains is this three minutes of home video footage. Bianca Stigter does an admirable job exploring the footage and interviewing relatives of those in the film. Heartbreaking but important.

Housekeeping (1987)
The great Scottish director Bill Forsyth’s first American film stars the always stunning Christine Lahti. Like all of his films, Forsyth subtly makes the small seem big, in this case the story of two sisters who go to live with their eccentric aunt in 1950’s Seattle. If you liked Local Hero you should definitely check this out. His subtle humor translates very well in this film.

Thankskilling (2008)
A homicidal turkey axes off college kids during Thanksgiving break. The actually tagline is “gobble, gobble motherfuckers!”
The turkeys are puppets that look like Dollar Store Dark Crystal. The novelty wears off long before the 70 minute run time…and there are sequels.

The Holdovers (2023)
I have no idea if this is good or not but it probably is because Paul Giamatti and Alexander Payne. We should have a field trip.
